Mother Nature will fight back. He was certain, and so was I as we stood there in silence and looked at the wild canyon around us under the Californian sun.
I watch the news and feel that many of us live in the same physical worlds though our understanding of what’s happening are very different. Or, perhaps it’s the same but it’s not properly out in the open and said with the same words: we need to change our way of living. Now.

This last year has been intense in many ways. The climate crisis has made people I love sick, very sick, and as a result I’ve been sick too. It’s a long story that I won’t go in to in detail but the last months have made me think a lot about how I live my life, what is important, how can I be a better person and how can I look after myself and others from a true place of love. I can’t run anymore, and I believe that the running causes harm to myself and to everything around me, nature and people alike. So I try, and when I start running again I start to feel sick and then if I don’t slow down I get sick again. Like today. At home on my couch and not at work as I should be. Luckily I live in a country where it’s ok to be sick and to stay at home when you are.
I want to do more to look after the world I’m in, but I feel a bit lost about it because of so many things. Right now it’s mostly the ignorance and idiocy by the government, state and legislations that prohibit change for anything else than positive capitalistic growth. It heavily weighs me down and so I continue with my everyday life that turns in to weeks and so life goes on without change. Till I get sick again and stop to look outside properly. The colours of the leaves have now changed and it’s a symphony of colours right outside our house. I go outside and the air is crisp, the sun rises much later and the dark evenings are longer, and we’ve stored a lot of firewood in the shed built as an outdoors part of our house in the woods.

Action needs to happen and if I and we don’t wake up and start to change our way of life, well, the science is clear on how Mother Nature will fight back when we don’t look after our home like we ought to. The worst part is that I think it’s so easy too and that the simple joy of doing something good for the nature I’m a part of, is such a fundamentally good feeling that I want to do it all the time. But stress and rush are powerful addicts and so I get sick.

Thinking out loud here are some things I want to take action on:
ᨒ Prepare the vegetable patches and outdoors flowers in pots for winter.
ᨒ Sew a dress I have in mind.
ᨒ Go for more walks on the forest path behind the house and in the area.
ᨒ Free dive this autumn and film it, before the water gets beautifully clear in January and February. And then go free diving again of course!
ᨒ Finally check out two locations further west and north west where I hope there are waves for surfing. Fingers crossed.
ᨒ Buy everything second hand for a project at work that I hope will bring people together.
ᨒ Buy apples for winter from a wonderful apple farmer friend ❤
ᨒ Cycle to work this winter.
ᨒ Look after my body though yoga and bjj.
ᨒ Finally start teaching yoga in a peaceful place. Will tell more soon.
ᨒ Eat locally when I can.
ᨒ Share more about nature on social media.
ᨒ Have minimalistic set ups live.
ᨒ Play more music ❤
