❁ February

2024. It’s already March and spring is almost here. I’ve seen three different types of flowers in bloom so far and the trees are getting small buds as we’re approaching Easter.

February was a cold month, also when it came to temperatures. It was snowy, cold, icy and a lot of weather. It might seem strange to start this post writing about the weather to explain a month and my life in it, but we’re very much dependent on the weather and how it guides us here in this part of the world.

The highlight of the month was to travel to Kristiansand with my parents to visit my sister. We took the bus all the way down which was a ten hour long bus journey. I was not very positive to the long journey down, but it ended up being a very comfortable break from life with great seats, views and time to sit and be together with my family. It’s been a very long winter and this was much needed. We went to Kristiansand to see my sisters’ art exhibition and I’m so incredibly proud of her. She is so hardworking and talentet, and she was glowing. It was beautiful to witness.

On our first day there my dad and I joined a protest to support the people of Palestine. It was a very moving demonstration with children walking in front and leading the way. I’m glad I was there with my dad, who wore a scarf with the Palestinian flags’ colours. It felt good to be there together after this winter. The sun felt warm for the first time in a while.

I love to travel and to leave my days open so I can be spontaneous. It’s a great privilege to be comfortable travelling this way and it makes me feel present and alive and aware of the beauty that surrounds us. I was also reminded of how much I enjoy walking around and how much energy it gives me to move and look, smell and see. To walk around, a little walkabout, was a very nice reminder of a break I can create for myself in life.

The weekend after Øyvind and I went to Voss to fly in a wind tunnel. The power of air and temperature amazes me. Øyvind was a natural at it of course, and I quite enjoyed it, though there was a constant flow of instructions to take in so I didn’t feel free in the moment. I think I would have felt more at ease and present if I had more time to just melt in to the constant flow of air that I was trying to sail on in a windsuit.

Back home winter started to let go and the first snow drops broke the surface halfway through the last winter month of February.

Walking on the bridge between Knarvik and Flatøy.

Popsi looking at birds outside while I’m about to try and reclaim my sitting area while working from home.

Snow drops ❤

My sister is an artist!

I love it here with the rocks and salt and the open wild ocean.

The cold harbour of Kristiansand and the texture of snow mixed with sand.

To round up February Øyvind and i flew inside this wind tunnel at Voss!
